VMware vSphere Design
So far one of the best resources I have used in my study to VCAP-DCD exam have been this book. I was surprised how much detail it got and how it kept coming better and better to the end. The book walks you trough most of the decision points and you should have pretty solid understanding of vSphere designing and architecture after reading the book.
